After a hugely successful Showcase 2014 event, HEKSS are happy to announce that we will be returning bigger and better for 2015. We’re holding this year’s event at the Amba Hotel Charing Cross. Conveniently located in the heart of London, the South Bank, the West End and Soho are all on your doorstep if you wish to explore this wonderful city following the event.
HEKSS Showcase 2015 is a chance to see first-hand the excellent training opportunities, initiatives and support offered in our region through the eyes of some of our leading consultants and trainee doctors currently working here.
The theme of this year’s event will be the Trainee Voice in HEKSS, demonstrating that trainees are integral to all that we do and inform decision-making as to how we develop and improve our programmes, supporting trainees through all stages of training, up until completion.
Why KSS? How we support and encourage our trainees.
Talks will also focus on fantastic opportunities available to trainees within their training programmes, in addition to other extra-curricular endeavours that HEKSS actively encourage, for example out of programme experiences abroad, undertaking research or leadership programmes.
Targeted sessions on the interview process and beyond. One on one careers advice.
Sessions on the application process, career planning and interview skills will be run on the day to help you be better prepared for the interviews and beyond. As an attendee you will also have the opportunity to book a private session with an experienced careers expert to answer your questions, sign-post you and identify tools available to assist you with specialty choice, interview skills and other top tips.
What is it really like to live and work in our region? Meet the people who are already doing so.
There will be an exhibitors hall where you have a chance to meet representatives and current trainees from different HEKSS Trusts and specialties across our region, to get a better idea of what our programmes offer and what it is like to train, work and live here. This is also a great opportunity to network and make new contacts.
Who is this event for?
This event is aimed at prospective and current trainee doctors. Whether you are a Year 4/5 medical student, a foundation trainee about to apply for training, a specialty trainee looking to make the next step, a doctor from abroad looking for advice or anyone else interested in postgraduate medical training, the HEKSS Showcase is for you.
